The city of Ahlen (www.ahlen.de) is the biggest and economically most important city in the county of Warendorf. Of Ahlen’s 56,000 inhabitants, close to 17% were not born in Germany. Schools for children of all age, a wide range of cultural offers, and the entire bandwidth of shopping facilities, a cinema, a public pool and several sport facilities make Ahlen an attractive place for working and living. The neighbouring city of Hamm offers shopping centres and the Maximare leisure park. The city of Münster with its universities is only 40 minutes from Ahlen by train or bus. For its international staff, St. Franziskus-Hospital Ahlen provides a limited number of apartments in its nearby nursing school.
